Diplomatic Discussion

Diplomatic Discussion #1:
“ASEAN Centrality: Navigating Troubled Waters Through The Waves of Giants”

FPCI Chapter UI Diplomatic Discussion #1 is expected to serve as a discussion facilitator to address a fundamental question: “Is the Non-Intervention Principle, strongly upheld by ASEAN, still relevant and effective in facing the geopolitical challenges in Southeast Asia?”

A problem arises with ASEAN being in the middle of two feuding superpowers, China and the U.S., as ASEAN Centrality seems to be such an ambitious goal considering internal conflicts are still a major issue. The non-intervention principle has allowed ASEAN countries to maintain peace between each other. However, conflicts such as in the Delta Mekong and in Myanmar questions the effectiveness of the principle.

This event is conducted in Bahasa Indonesia and is intended to broaden participant’s knowledge around ASEAN centrality and its effectiveness. By joining this event, you can casually voice your opinions, gain insights, and derive a deeper understanding of the issue from various perspectives.
